How to Pay for Hospice?

There are a few ways to pay for hospice services, including private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and out-of-pocket costs.

Medicare is a federal health insurance program that covers hospice care for people with terminal illnesses. About 90% of Hospice patients are eligible to be covered by Medicare.

Medicaid is a state and federal program that helps pay for medical care for people with low incomes or limited resources.

Private insurance companies typically cover hospice care, but coverage varies from plan to plan. Some plans may only cover certain hospice services or have a limit on the amount they will pay. It's important to check with your insurance provider to see what is covered under your plan.
